The Dawning of Time

A surge of power as the big bang occurred,
Light was brighter than bright as Mother Nature had her birth.
Molded by the hand of God, as all the planets were.
All the stars of all the galaxies; yet God paid thoughtful attention
To our earth.

For six long days and six long nights He created life on this land.
Flowers, trees, fruits and bees; assorted animals so grand.
Air for all to breathe and mountains rose up from the sea.
He created fish life and mammals so big and strong and free.

What beauty were all of these,
Yet, something was missing;
He thought, “in my world so great and rare.”
Then a dove whispered in His ear; “there’s no one here to share.”
With a twinkling of an eye God started to mold out of mud,
A likeness of himself.

With His own breath, man was born He called him Adam.
He was so proud as a father can be;
He created the first human man.
But then the dove whispered in his ear again,
That he should mold a mate for Adam so he would not be alone.

On the seventh day God rested, He pondered all day long.
He thought to himself,
“I will create a woman because man should not be alone.”
Then, on that night God waited until Adam was fast asleep.
He carefully took a rib from Adam to unite that woman for keeps.

Then God declared that the entire world belonged to them,
But the Garden of Eden was special that’s where all of life began.

The only thing God warned them,
Not to eat the forbidden fruit from the tree.
Only then God would allow them to stay in the garden peacefully.

One day a serpent said to Eve
How luscious was the fruit from that tree.
Red and crispy, delicious and delightful, as tasty as it could be.
He beckoned Eve to taste the apple, a fruit beyond compare.

She felt so guilty for she realized what she had done, she was in despair.
Then she enticed Adam to do the same, knowing it was wrong.
Thunder and lightening bolts and swift winds took it all away.
That Eve had eaten the forbidden fruit and tempted
Adam to go astray.

God banished them from the garden when he saw what they had done.
In their shame, they clothed their bodies with leaves and vines
For their innocence was lost for all time.
From the garden He banished them to the desert,
For Satan had won that round.

God had allowed good and evil to make the world go round.
The devil, posing as the serpent tempted
Eve so she fell from grace.
The devil, through Eve tempted Adam, all was lost, they failed.

But God was ever patient and wise, He was determined as could be.
He created from the earth a living rainbow of a family.
From different soils of the world
He made a spectrum of colors of people,
Like the rainbow of nature, to shine in harmony.

But within humanity, He created us to have our own uniqueness.
He wanted us to obey Him, yet think on our own.
When we find truth and wisdom, He welcomes us back home.

Since Adam and Eve a lot has evolved on this mighty earth.
But sadly,
The human family has been in division ever since the first.
Since God created us all uniquely alone,
We must shine like that rainbow,
With wonderful vibrant colors all blended by His hand alone.

Diversity is richness; commonality in brotherhood is a joy.
We are all brothers and sisters in God, one world and one home.
Of all of God’s creations, human beings are the greatest of all!

If we could curb ego and envy or the games of power play,
And replace them with love and compassion, make things right
In the world today, we would have heaven right here on earth.
In the human condition, there are many tests and trials.

We have to learn and grow, holding God’s hand all the while.
Let it be His will, not ours regardless what may come;
Always remember His truth, “Thy will be done.”

He created such wonders to make our world complete.
God created all of us, so we could reflect Him and shine.
We the human family, must love and respect our members
Everywhere and every last one.

We must come together in peace to save this land, for generations to come
The rivers, oceans, forests and mountains, are God’s gifts to us.
God’s dream will fade away if we’re not careful; it’s up to us!
People coming together in peace,
Black, White, Red, Yellow and Brown,
We all bleed red, God is our father and that’s our common ground!

From the dawning of time God’s been here, there and everywhere.
In the dawning there is no beginning and there’s no end.
God’s love is everlasting; His truth is our becoming, our lasting peace
God’s love and truth will guide us so His joy is complete!
